Experimental UI Concept Design 

for Depicting Time on Apple Watch

Bloom

Numeric time displays can lead to anxiety, especially in situations where time is limited. In order to improve this experience, I decided to represent time using the metaphor of a blooming flower and its different stages of growth.

Challenge | Opportunity

Bloom captures the essence of time through an unexpected visual experience. It is an app integrated into the Apple Watch, that analyzes users' bodily conditions and offers personalized recommendations, all presented through blooming flowers.

  1. Needs: With an academic life bursting with lectures, assignments, and extracurricular activities, Ethan is on the hunt for a time management aid that dynamically adapts to his evolving schedule. He needs a tool that reduces the weight of his academic burden while amplifying his productivity.

  2. Frustrations: Each glance at a numerical display heightens his anxiety, reflecting his daily struggles in navigating a labyrinth of academic and personal commitments.

  1. Needs: Racing against deadlines and tight schedules, Sophia is in search of a time management tool that can seamlessly fit into her bustling routine. She's determined to find a solution that not only keeps her organized but also offers a sense of empowerment in the face of her demanding career.

  2. Frustrations: Constantly bothered by the relentless ticking of numeric clocks, Sophia's frustration peaks as these reminders amplify her already high-stress environment.
